Reactivated Series Chapter One: The First.

React-sci-fi-series

CHAPTER ONE

Dr. Vaygo she is awake. She is unaware of what has happened, but she is responding quite well. Her movements are normal and her wounds are healing nicely. She has been able to sit up and look around without any trouble. The only thing is Dr. Vaygo is she is not aware of what she is. She has not been told about her condition. Do I tell her?

Hardy, don't say a thing to her. I don't want her to be alarmed and possibly put her in harm's way. If she doesn't realize what has happened and that she was brought back, there is no need to tell her just yet. Let's just make sure she can function normally before letting her family know she is awake.

Alright, doctor, I will do as you request. I will go back to her now and attend to her.

As the young nurse walks back to the patient, she wanders to herself, what it would be like when it's her time to go? Will she be in pain, will it be everything she hoped it would be. The process seems to be working so far, and the first patient seems to be normal. But when its time to place her in that mental sleep forever, will she know its not a real world? Will she be able to enjoy her death? All these worries cross her mind as the nurse Hardy walks back into the room with the young woman patient.

Where am I?

You're at the Hope Of Queens Hospital. You've had an accident and you have been asleep now for almost a month. How do you feel?

Oh,my God! Are you serious? What the fuck is going on? I just woke up now after being asleep for so long? Holy shit!

Please, don't move around just yet. Let your body adjust to waking up. Lay down and rest now. I'm Nurse Hardy and I will be your nurse for the next few weeks while you recover. Dr. Vaygo has been waiting for you to wake up. She wants to talk  to you about the next process.

Next process? What the hell does that mean? What's going to happen to me? WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE GOING TO DO TO ME? I want to call home, I want to call home, NOW!

No. no, not just yet. I will call for you. Once the doctor has come to see you. She wants to explain everything to you. You are in good hands, Katey. You don't need to panic. Please, believe me. You are not in any harm here. We are here to help you enjoy your new death.

What the fuck did you just say?

Oh, my gosh. I mean. I'm sorry. I will go and get the doctor for you.

NO, NURSRE! Come back. PLEASE! NURSE!

The doctor was walking down to the patient when she saw that Nurse Hardy came rushing out of the patient's room and the worst frightened face. Nurse Hardy spotted the doctor and rushed over to her.

I am so sorry doctor. I did something so terrible.

They both hear the patient yelling and turn toward the patient's room door.

The doctor and the nurse both rush to the patient's room and walk in. Worried and curious as to what just happened, the doctor asks the nurse what happened when she saw her come rushing out of the patient's room? Did something happen that she should be aware of?

The nurse whispers to the doctor that she may have spilled her beans about the death thing. And that she was really sorry. It was not on purpose.

The doctor looking a bit angry, tells the nurse to leave the room and close the door. If needs anything else she will call for her. But for now, she wants to be alone with the patient.

The nurse listens and does as she is told.

Katey still yelling at the top of her lungs, WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU? ANOTHER FUCKEN NURSE, OR DOCTOR, HERE TO KILL ME?

No, no Katey, that's not what is going to happen. You have to be calm, please. I need to explain a few things to you. Please, give me some time to talk to you about what is going on. Nobody is going to harm you. I promise, but you first must stop yelling and panicking.

Fine, you can talk and tell me what the fuck is going on? Then I want to call home, my family is probably worried about me. Please, let me call home.

Yes, of course you can. Actually, my nurse will be doing that right after we talk, okay Katey? I need to talk to you now, okay?

Yeah, speak. I don't trust this bullshit, but you can tell me what's going on.

Great. Thank you. Okay, Katey. You have been in a really bad accident. You were in a bad car accident that has caused a few deaths and you were barely alive when you came into the hospital about a month ago. The other people were dead on the scene, and you were the only one to survive.
Now, being that you're of age, and it's the law here...

What the fuck are you talking about? You sound like you're saying to me that I am old and ready to die? Is that what you're saying to me? I am not 40 years old yet.

Katey, let me finish. You are almost 40 years old and here in Laylopa, you are of age to be put into your sleep. We have laws and those laws we go by here. You know that this is the way of life here.

Holy shit. You are going to kill me. YOU, FUCKEN CRAZY DOCTOR. You're out to lunch. You are not killing me. YOU ARE NOT KILLING ME! Do you hear me, you fucken Wako?

Now, Katey, it is a hard thing to process for some, and it is a hard task for me as well, but if I do not carry out the laws here, I will be punished myself. Everyone has to go through this. It's our time at 40 Katey. You know this. But anyway, in the next week, you will be of age, and you should decide what you want to be planted in your head for your Reactivation Sleep. Think about it and I will be back tomorrow to get things lined up for your putdown. Okay, Katey?

GO TO HELL WAKO, You will not be putting anything down. You guys are fucked in the heads here. Killing people. You will not get away with this. Once I tell my family what you are going to do to me, they'll be here to get me. Count on it.

Katey, your family put you here. They lined up this reactivation process for you. You even had the waiver signed many years ago. Don't you recall this Katey? This is the way that we follow. We can't have the world populated with anyone who is over 40 years old Katey.

NO, NO, NO. I did not sign anything like that. I'd remember this. I know I would. I would never agree to kill myself.

Now, Katey. I will be back tomorrow to talk to you, okay? You get some rest now and I will get the nurse to come in now and do her job. You rest, and think of what you want implanted. You don't have to worry. You are in good hands, okay. You need some rest, see you tomorrow Katey.

Fuck you, doctor. I will be out of here soon. My family will be coming to get me. I want to call home now. My family would never let this happen.

The doctor leaves and tells the nurse to watch her mouth next time. Or it's her job. Walks away back to her office and the nurse now goes in to see Katey.

Hi, Katey. I am back. I called your family and they are coming in the morning to see you.

Oh, thank God! I was hoping someone would tell my family I was okay. They must have been worried sick about me? Are they nurse?

Katey, your family told me that you are ready for your Reactivation process by this coming week? It will be your time. It's exciting Katey, is it not? You get to choose where you want to go and never have to worry about being alone. You will have your thoughts and memories. You should be so lucky Katey. I wish when it is my time that I have family to be there with me. You are very lucky.

Holy shit, have you lost your mind too? Who agreed to what? I never fucken did. I don't even remember being here in Laylopa. I'm from Vibrow. You know? The valley? Oh, fuck sakes, nevermind.

But Katey, your ID says your from Laylopa Valley. That's only 20 minutes from here.

Your crazy, your not even a nurse probably. You guys are some blackweb shit. Probably selling people or their parts for money. I'm your fucken victim. I know. Don't try to lie to me. You are all going to be fucked when my family gets here. You did call them, right?

Of course. They know where you are. They said they'll be on the way shortly.

Good, cuz when they are here, I'll be telling them about your plans and killing me and all. Don't worry, I will be leaving real quick out of this shit hole. And I will be calling the cops too.

Katey, relax. You are over exaggerating. You are no harm here. Believe me. Nobody is going to hurt you. I'll be back, okay? I have some other patients that need me. Get some rest. You're family will be here soon.

Nurse leaves and Katey closes her eyes. Scared and alone, Katey rolls over facing the door, just in case something funny happens. She will be aware of it. Not sure if she should close her eyes, but she falls asleep any way and drifts off to dream land.

The nurse listens at Katey door, doesn't hear anything and goes in quietly. She grabs the I.V bag and injects the serium that will make Katey go into her Reactivation process. She won't even know that she's there. All the paperwork and everything has been signed already. Way before. Everyone has to sign these papers on their 20th birthdays. Everyone, its the law here in Laylopa. Katey had already planned for this day. Her family will be soon to say good-bye. It's all taken care of and Katey will be off in your own reality, not knowing that this world is no longer her reality. Safe travels Katey, the nurse whispers in Katey's ear. See you shortly. Rest well, and leaves the room quietly.

Suddenly, Katey wakes up. She is disorientated and knows that something isn't right. She fights to talk to yell or something, and nothing is happening. She can't even move. Her eyes wide open and her mouth is opened. Nothing is coming out. But in her mind, she is yelling and can think, but her body is not responding to her. She is frightened and scared and starts to cry. She can feel the tears on her cheeks, rolling down onto her neck and into her ears. She tries again to speak, and then tries to move. Nothing. She turns her head and thinks for a moment. She needs to make noise. What can she do? Then it came to her.

Katey moves her head and pushes up on her pillow, making her pillow move up the bed. Then turns her head and moves the pillow to the side of her head and pushes as hard as she can, making the pillow push everything off the end table by the bed and onto the floor. Making the loudest crashing noise.

Katey rolls her head back onto the bed and waits for someone.

The nurse comes busting into Katey's room and with a shocked face, yells out for the doctor. DOCTOR VAYGO, KATEY ISN'T IN HER DEAD SLEEP. SHE IS AWAKE. HURRY!

Katey hearing this, and panics but still cant move. She tries to wiggle her body and slowly, slowly Katey gets her body moving. Slowly and slowly she manages to get to the edge of her bed and rolls off onto the floor.

Holy fuck that hurts, but I am not going to die in this hospital, not with you fucken wakos. I am going to get the fuck out of here, still wiggling on the floor, and even being hurt from the fall off her bed.

Oh, my gosh Katey. What are you doing? Where do you think you are going to go? You can not leave. You have to sleep Katey. You are about to reach you're dead sleep. You must rest.

The nurse grabs Katey and lifts her back up onto the bed. Katey trying to fight back, soon gives up and passes back out.

Finally, holy shit I didn't know what to do.

The doctor comes busting into Katey's room. What the fuck nurse?

Dr. Katey is good. She woke up in the middle of her dead sleep and seemed to get herself off the bed and onto the floor. She is asleep again. All good.

Good, because I don't think she can handle another dose of Reactivation. It would kill her brain completey. She would die forsure. Can't have that happen. Take care of this nurse. I have other things to do right now. Keep me updated, and let me know when her family comes.

Yes doctor, I will. I got this under control now.

You better. I will have your head if you fuck this up, GOT ME?

Yes, yes. I got you. Its all good.

The doctor leaves and nurse Hardy watches over Katey for a few moments and leaves once again to attend her other patients. Katey fast asleep, and off in her dream world. But not the one she paid for, but the one where dreams happen. She isn't in her dead sleep just yet.

Dead Sleep works like this, you fall sleep, you have your normal dreams. The injection of Reactivation takes about 6 hours to go through the body and for your mind to take on that sleep- reality thing. The whole process is slow, but it is guaranteed to work and put you into that coma-dream-reality mind control state. Its worth to take when your laws in your city are you are to sleep forever at the age of 40. You must have everything in order for that day. If not, you will be hunted down and put to sleep anyway, but you will not like where they put you. Into the dark, alone, forever. Best choice is to take the injection of Reactivate and live on in your mind, but not your body. Your body is cremated and no more over population on the planet.

What would you do? Would you live forever in a make believe state or put into a dark space in your mind and live there forever, alone. It's the law.  What do you chose? live or die alone.
